sauce me
shout out to Elder Bates for being a 工具 and teaching me all the words i have never learned. This week has been pretty awesome actually! So the beginning of our fun week. Transfers rolled in! And now we are beginning the last transfer. I received a new companion! His name is Elder Endicott! HE is from Sandy, Utah! HE comes from a great family, and is part poly! He is a good looking guy!! And he is a hard working Elder. He just finished training so I am his "breaker".Elder Vincent was sent to Hualian, land of promise and beauty!! We are gonna miss him! I love that guy!!! We began the final transfer pretty well, we said good bye to all of the investigators and members Monday through Thursday, then Thursday through Sundaywas pretty blank. But Sunday is pretty awesome!!! we biked out to a place called xinpu, which is really awesome!! Missionaries hadn't been there in quite a while. Its a little more traditional and its small but it was really fun!!!
Rising Storm
Well last pday of the transfer and the sad fact that my companion has already been here for 4. I will probably be picking up a new comp this week! But this week was CHINESE NEW YEAR, and it has been a blessed time. The last couple days Our members have been giving us 2 meals day everyday. I had 4 meals of steak in a row. It was delicious and very very heavy. My companion woke up this morning looks at me and says, "i just want to be hungry again" hahaha this is a great time in taiwan!!We still saw some really cool miracles. Because during the new year, the tradition is everything closes and everyone goes home. So Literally anyone left here is not from here, and will be returning home after. Also The amount of people left around is soooo few. It turns to a ghost town for a few days its crazy. So the members give us things to eat, and give us things to do.
SHAKIN
pretty fun! WE have had some good earthquakes on the east coast. However on the west coast we got a few good rollers. So the east coast took a good hit! Everyone was having a good time! the missionaries there are all safe! It happened a couple nights in a row about the same time! They start and kind of feell like your about to throw up and then after a second you just realize your whole building is moving. And we live pretty high up. It is pretty fun!We had our main man Howard get baptized! He has been working on it for almost a year now, But we just gave him the time,and he came to the desire to do it! And then it was simple! We had to review everything with him, but it was pretty awesome!!We saw some crazy miracles this week! We decided after receiving a good training about baptismal dates, we went and invited a ton of people and Heavenly Father blessed us accordingly. It has been incredible! We have seen a ton of miracles.We brought the american tradition of ice cream after a church meeting! aw yeahoreos are buy one get on free sale!!
RAIN AND COLD
Well it has been rainy and cold. for a straight week now and the wind is very constant. It has put a real damper and the work. However we saw some super sick miracles this week. As we were strolling home from the land of 六家 we ran into a family of 5 people that were really awesome! after a little contact with them they told us to come by and visit their brunch shop. We are excited about that one!!! We have been teachng some super awesome people lately, we have an interview for one today!!! So he could use some prayers. HE will be ready though!!!For the record last winter was either not nearly this bad, or the east coast is legit warmer than the rest of taiwan. My hands and feet aren't warm unless I am in my blankets or just out of the shower. However it has been a ton f fun. We live with four elders and we do a good job at keeping high spirits!! we had a sunday feast that was a little bit ridiculous. And not very healthy but really fun!!love yall
let the games begin
man this week has been pretty good!!! So we have seen a ton of miracles! When Elder Vincent and I started out, we wanted to find some prepared people. We made a goal to find one person everyday no matter what. Just one person that was willing to learn the message of the restoration of the gospel. And it has provided us many friends and people to teach. We have been blessed greatly by the hand of the Lord. Which has been truly fun! The members are really warming up and we are having so much fun with them!We have a really fun apartment and district too! Our whole district has been up and going this transfer putting down the work. And loving everything they are doing! It has been fun to see! I have seen a ton of them grow so much! We have 5 missionaries still well below their year mark but they have been so impressive! It has been so awesome to see! I have loved being around them!Something I have not enjoyed, I have started to finish up college applications. Which it is hard to do. I don't know anything anymore! I have been doing a few essays and I realized, man i need to school up again! It is pretty funny actually. Also my spelling ever since learning Chinese has become the same level as a first grader. It is pretty embarrassing.pretty solid week.
In the Beginning
Alright this week was pretty much straight fire! We ran into to some really fun things and some really not so fun things, but pretty much Elder Vincent and I had a ton of fun proselyting this week! So we started by having a great P-day we ate a ton of food, messed around played some sports and stuff.We met some super cool people and have set some super good goals to help us be improving the area. Get it to somewhere that every missionary wants. We have seen some super cool miracles as we have just been aiming for the goals we prayerfully set. Heavenly Father has been backing us up and helping us hit them. We met some really fun people Like the addidas store owner that thinks we are super rough working all the time and biking around. So he said if we ever need anything he will give us better sales! That was kinda super nice. My shoes have eben ruined with large whole in them for about 3 months now... hahaha But then again i gotta get some that work pretty well.I think i should tell all of you. You are all awesome. If you make it to this part of the email shout out to you for actually reading. I will be straight with anyone that makes it to reading this part. I have been out of things to say. Aside from I love my companion, i love my area, i love the people, and the members. I love my mission. I love my god. I love all things.We started teaching a golden grandma! She is awesome we are gonna have to pass her off to other missionaries. but she is so fun! She is so cool! She started crying while she was given a chapel tour. And said she could feel the spirit with out us ever telling her the word. She literally just said holy spirit. I almost filled up the font right there.... hahahah just kidding.
Retired!!!!
I am now moved into 竹北 ZHUBEI!!!!!! It is so awesome!!! Iwill miss Elder Walters and the 信安 ward and the english ward. But my new companion is awesome his name is Elder Vincent from California!!! He is so cool! so he played tennis competitively for BYU and he is one of the best young missionaries i have seen! He is really dedicated to having the time and the energy to succeed! It has been a good couple of days! So we have already visited one of the RC and trying to get the dad to be into now. And i met the other RC at church. We have an awesome ward with a lot of families! Which is amazing!!!I moved into a really nice house. Iam in the Zhubei 3 ward. which is on the west coast of taiwan. Ican see the ocean from my house. Ilive in a beautiful building and a great location. Really close to the train station, and the chapel. We have a massive and gorgeous chapel here. Which is where i am emailing you from today!!!Anyway i am back out of Taibei to have the last two transfers in somewhere a little less city. But to be honest it is still a really big city here its just a little more spread out with a few less people walking around. Its really nice actually nice and quiet!! We have been back on our bikes quite a bit more than i was in my last area. So it is nice to be out and going again!Last part is i just want to say that prayer is powerful. Ihave been improving my prayers little by little. And really been going at it with real intent! And it feels so good! We have been really trying to always rely on the spirit and seek its guidance! We have really growing into companions quickly! We have been working really hard! ANd it is fun! We are seeing some really good success come out of it!I love all of you!!!Elder Conover
